Progressive point-to-pointer and hunter chaser who impressed when winning at Ascot in April. Out of his depth at Punchestown last time, he is likely to find this much more to his liking and looks to have quite bit in hand.
First run for his current yard when wining well at Perth recently. Looked an improved performer there, and can make his presence felt again.
Useful point-to-pointer who made all when making a winning return to Rules action over C&D last month. That was not the strongest of contests and he will do well to dominate in this company.
Winner of a hunter chase at Ludlow in April, last year, he has lost his way completely and has pulled up on his last four starts. One to swerve given those recent form figures.
Unseated his rider when still in with a chance in a point-to-point last time, he showed he was capable in this sphere when winning at Huntingdon around this time last year. Visored for the first time under Rules, he looks to have something to find with the principals but is not completely ruled out.
Has won three point-to-points, but has cut little ice in a couple of starts in hunter chases. Looks out of his depth.
Won a novices' hurdle at Sandown in 2014 when trained by Nicky Henderson, but has been lightly raced since and has displayed only minor promise in a couple of hunter chases at this track. Clearly not as good as he was and faces some capable rivals.
His only race under Rules came in a Worcester seller in which he finished last of four finishers, but he has found his nice in point-to-points and won his last two starts in April. Those wins came in two and three-runner races so the form may amount to little and he is best watched.
Forecasts
Monsieur Gibraltar (7/4), Close House (9/4), Master Workman (5/2), Hill Of Gold (12/1), In Fairness (16/1), Tugboat (28/1), Legend To Be (50/1), Coral Point (80/1)
A race which revolves around top weight MONSIEUR GIBRALTAR, who should win this comfortably if his recent trip to Punchestown has not left its mark. Close House should give him most to do, while Master Workman may give it a bold show from the front.
- Monsieur Gibraltar
- Close House
- Master Workman
