Showed the benefit of his opening run when scoring on his second start as a juvenile at Carlisle over 6f. Career looks to have stalled from that point though and has been well held in handicaps so far finishing well beaten on the AW last time out returning from a break. Gets an ease in grade here but really needs to show some more zip to be of interest.

Makes his handicap/stable debut after winning a maiden on his third start last year on the AW at Wolverhampton over 6f. That didn't look the strongest of contest the third has been beaten in a handicap of 56 since but he did beat an odds-on favourite and should have some improvement in him coming back from his winter break.

Maiden winner on his second start over 6f at Newcastle he stepped up well from his debut on turf. His two runs in handicaps as a three-year-old have suggested he is capable of better but the 7f last time out didn't suit and a move back to 6f may well show him in a better light.

Form looked gradually regressive n maidens and handicaps for the Hannon yard but a new yard and a drop to 5f showed him in a better light when he won on the AW in February. Has failed to back up that initial run for the yard (both times at Ripon) although he's not been ridden prominently as he was for his win. Now returns to 6f with a few questions to answer.

Only really had one run as a juvenile that suggested he could be up to winning handicaps and looked to be going in the wrong direction. A break and a gelding operation looked to do the trick as he won on his first run of the year in a 6f AW maiden. His two runs in handicaps since then have shown that he looks exposed and his mark still looks a little high.

Best run as a juvenile came over 5f on her last run at Beverley where she looked suited by the drop in trip (first two runs over 7f). That run probably gave her a bit higher mark to run off here on debut but the 6f may suit and looks one of the more interesting types in this field.

Placed efforts on her first three starts in maidens all over 5f suggested that there was some ability there. However she hasn't really built on those runs in handicap company and the cheekpieces that she wore for the first time at Redcar didn't really appear to help her show any improvement.

Forecasts

Right Action (11/4), Burrishoole Abbey (7/2), Logi (7/2), El Hombre (11/2), Desperados Destiny (11/2), Dawoodi (12/1), Lady Molly (16/1), Little Miss Lola (16/1), Savannah Moon (20/1)

Verdict

A pretty mixed bag here with three handicaps debutantes taking on a few that have shown only a little bit of promise in handicaps so far. Of the handicap debutantes both Savannah Moon and DESPERADOS DESTINY take the eye with the nod given to the later from a yard who know the time of day with sprinters. Of the more exposed types in the field El Hombre can’t be written off too easily and Right Action and Logi despite appearing to have question marks against them can’t be easily ruled out in an open contest.
  1. Desperados Destiny
  2. Savannah Moon
  3. El Hombre
