Soft ground appeared to find him out on his debut over C&D when beaten by two more experienced rivals when with Richard Fahey. That was his only run for that yard before joining his current handler and he very much failed to build on or even repeat that first effort. Should not be too harshly judged on that effort (only 15 days between the two runs) and of interest back from a break here in a better surface.
Showed up relatively well on three outings as a juvenile over 5-6f on varying ground. Best run probably came on heavy ground at Hamilton on his second start over 6f (travelled well) and will appreciate this return to that trip after running over 5f at the end of last year.
Was probably unlucky to bump into a useful one on his debut over 5f on the AW at Newcastle and started a short-priced favourite back there over the same distance last time out. Beaten into the runner-up slot again he looked a little below his debut form but still holds a positive chance here as he makes his turf debut stepping up to 6f for the first time.
Made her debut over a mile on the AW in Match at Newcastle and showed the benefit of that experience when showing well in a 6f Pontefract maiden next time out. Didn't get the best of trips there and may well come on again and will be of interest for handicaps when she gets a mark.
Well held on her one outing so far in a 6f maiden at Newcastle and looks to be facing another stiff task here.

Poet's Reward (13/8), Dalton (5/2), England Expects (10/3), Hee Haw (10/1), Calypso Jo (12/1), Miss Quick (100/1)
Quite an interesting little contest with a few of these having shown promise in the past and it may well develop into race that could pay to follow. Dalton is the obvious starting point especially back from a break and on a better surface but he might just have to give best to POET’S REWARD who comes here fitter than most from the AW. Both Hee Haw and England Expects add some depth to the race with each of those two protagonists bring something to the party.
