Won his maiden at Beverley last June (1m½f, good), and has run some fair races in handicap company so far, especially on turf over a mile. Still open to improvement and another big run could be on the cards.
Not beaten too far on seasonal reappearance at Redcar and is entitled to come for that run. On the same mark from a good draw on ground he should enjoy and he is in the running for a place at least.
Three-time course winner who has shown some good form at Newcastle on the all-weather over the winter. The most recent of that is probably short of what is required here but the return to turf could turn out to be a positive.
Dual-purpose C&D winner but hasn't crossed the line in front since August 2015 and his form over jumps last winter didn't suggest a win back on the Flat was going to be imminent; best avoided.
Possibly better at the more specialist trip of 7f than over 1m, but is 2/3 at this course and looks on a fair handicap mark now; worth considering.
Veteran who has gone much closer on his two most recent starts than the form line suggests, beaten only 1ÂĽL on each occasion. Remains on the same mark over a C&D he's run well over before and he should go well here.
Returns to turf for his first run on grass since last August but has always looked better on a synthetic surface and has it all to prove against some horses in better recent form.
Forecasts
Jabbaar (11/4), Forever A Lady (4/1), Mustaqbal (5/1), Gworn (11/2), Rebel State (7/1), Kiwi Bay (8/1), Testa Rossa (10/1)
This can go to the veteran KIWI BAY who has run well on his recent starts and looks to be on a decent mark on that basis. Though he's never won here he has gone well over C&D in the past and this represents a good opportunity for him to notch up a 12th career win. Jabbaar has acquitted himself well in handicap company so far and is feared most, ahead of Forever A Lady, who goes well here but may be better over a furlong shorter.
