Well beaten here last month in handicap bow on heavy going over 1m½f in apprentice contest, upped significantly in trip now and meets forecast ground for the first time.
Winner off a mark of 70 on his handicap debut over 7f at Kempton in April 2015. Made just five starts since including two disappointing efforts for this yard and probably best watched here.
Ran a stinker over thus trip on the AW at Dundalk in February on sole outing since last summer, questions remain over his desire for this trip on the back of that effort.
Losing run stands at 16 now, efforts in final three starts of last season were decidedly poor and hard to be confident returning from a break in this.
Scored off this mark over 1m2f at Clonmel a year ago on second start back from a break, in and out since though showed enough on return last month at Dundalk over this trip to suggest she can go close now with the benefit of that run.
No luck at Fairyhouse last month in first tilt at a handicap over jumps, needs to improve on previous Flat form if not to face similar tale now tackling one in this sphere.
Was essentially pulled up on sole previous try over this trip on AW at Dundalk in March, equally disappointing over a mile on turf at Gowran Park six days ago and has plenty to prove despite 7lb claim to assist.
In fine form on the AW at Wolverhampton in March when last seen, winning over this trip and just edged out in follow up attempt. Doesn't appear especially well treated back on turf where record is 0/3 (not run beyond a mile on grass).
Hasn't won in 13 starts, trio of wins came in 2014 in Germany over the mile, has shown little since joining this trainer and now tackles 1m4f for the first time sporting new cheekpieces.
Just the one placing from ten starts on the Flat, was last spotted over 3m jumping hurdles in January on return to this trainer. Previous Flat effort was poor but mark gives him some hope if running to his best.
Scored twice last season at around the mile, has been disappointing in four runs this year so far and while step up in trip may help, still appears to be held by the handicapper for now.
Never a factor in three maiden runs on turf last year, furthest over 1m4f on debut. Also flopped in 2m5f maiden hurdle contest at Tramore recently. Tough task ahead seemingly.
Both career wins have arrived at this venue, including over this trip in August 2014, has had his problems since and two course runs last month suggested they may have taken something out of him. Upped in distance and weighted appealingly if the ability still lurks in there.
Mare who had been off the course for a year before last month's tame effort at Dundalk over 2m. Shaped like needing that run and could come on for it so not dismissed over this shorted trip and interesting that trainer has persevered.
Remains a maiden after 13 runs but efforts either side of a break have been encouraging, close third of 15 over 1m3f on good ground at Limerick last month. Has been raised 3lb but could have more to come.
Forecasts
Ripped (2/1), Mademoiselle Penny (9/2), Alcander (7/1), Bottleofsmoke (8/1), Jazz Ranger (10/1), El Tren (10/1), Flattothemat (12/1), Ask Katie (14/1), Lex Talionis (16/1), White Lotus (16/1), Aussie Guest (20/1), Traidisiun (25/1), Mister Buddy (25/1), Shamar (33/1), Sir Henry Raeburn (33/1)
MADEMOISELLE PENN is now on the same mark as when scoring over a shorter trip at Clonmel a year ago, she showed enough on reappearance at Dundalk over this trip to suggest she might up to taking this prize with the benefit of that run behind her. Ripped is rated a chief danger to her hopes, having backed up a good effort on final run last year with another pleasing show at Limerick on his reappearance a fortnight ago. Bottleofsmoke was in good form in the spring on the AW, though may need to offer more now back on turf. Aussie Guest has to prove himself after some problems but is well-treated if the ability remains while it is noted that Bolger has kept faith in Traidisiun despite her problems.
- Mademoiselle Penny
- Ripped
- Traidisiun
