Formerly rated in the 140s for Henry de Bromhead. Yet to win for new connections but has promised to do so notably when second to Somchine (ran well at Ayr's big April meeting) at Hereford. Has not been disgraced since and the handicapper has given him a chance. Yard had a welcome winner at Towcester on Thursday.

Proved he handled quicker conditions at Taunton last time. This looks a stronger race but, having won twice and been second twice in five runs for this stable, he may not have stopped improving. Trainer 3-6 with his chasers here.

Has been running well on the Flat recently. Resumes his chasing career of a 6lb lower mark than when placed at Huntingdon in 2015. Of obvious interest for a yard that like to have winners here and who have just hit form. Looks one of the more interesting betting angles in this.

A change of scenery brought immediate reward at Plumpton on last month. That was a career best performance and one which suggests a 7lb rise is about right. This looks a much stronger race.

C&D winner in February but was never travelling well here next time. Readily outpointed by easy winner four weeks ago and now drops in distance. Jockey booking makes him more interesting and blinkers, which have made no obvious impact previously, are refitted. Yard are 8-21 with their chasers here and landed this two years ago.

Age: 6|  Weight: 10-12| J: L P Aspell| T: N J Gifford| OR:  96

Well beaten behind Lake Chapala last time and is clearly held. This is a stronger race and, given he dropped away tamely that day, he is hard to recommend.

Forecasts

The Geegeez Geegee (5/2), Lake Chapala (7/2), Lord Ben (7/2), Jaunty Inflight (4/1), Halling's Wish (7/1), Give Him Time (14/1)

Verdict

The Geegeez Geegee and Jaunty Inflight represent yards with excellent records with their chasers around here. Lord Ben has the pick of the form but he is proving hard to win with and may again find something too good for him. HALLING'S WISH has been going well on the Flat lately. He is relatively unexposed over fences and has got in here on an attractive mark with his yard going well.
  1. Halling's Wish
  2. Lord Ben
  3. Jaunty Inflight
