Lightly raced for his age, and this will only be the second time he's seen a racecourse in two years. Was a C&D winner here back in 2014 (from a 3lb lower mark) and likely conditions fine, but can only be watched after another layoff.

Was a good third in a maiden hurdle at Down Royal last May, giving hope that he would do better one going handicapping but went backwards after that and had two non-completions. Too soon to write off, and these conditions possibly more suitable, so watch the market for clues.

Showed some promise in maiden hurdles last year but hasn't pulled up any trees in two starts in handicaps, and connections now reach for the cheekpieces to turn things around. Not out of it if they do the trick, but on balance, a bit to prove now.

Well beaten on last three starts and appears to be regressing already. Cheekpieces are applied for the first time but they need to have a major effect if he's to get involved.

Did win a handicap hurdle from a mark just 1lb higher than today at Clonmel in December and ran to a similar level on his next start, but form has taken a turn for the worse recently. Needs to raise his game again to challenge for top honours here.

Placed on three start in England for this yard last year but not seen out since finishing well beaten here in October. Stays well and likely conditions fine, but no great record fresh after a break, so maybe best watched tonight.

Had been banging the door down before finally getting on the scoresheet at Ballinrobe earlier in the week, battling on well and showing a good attitude to hold off Lizzies Champ. Slight step up in trip here but connections clearly trying to strike whilst the iron is still hot. Big player again.

Ran okay here in March when fourth to the unexposed Andratx but not so good since, with form taking a turn for the worse. Quickly turned around after being well beaten in the week but plenty to prove now.

Winner at Tramore in mid-April when taking a handicap chase with something in hand, but disappointing when made favourite to follow that up at Fairyhouse last time, finishing well beaten. Not out of this and conditions fine, but needs to bounce back.

Has shown next to nothing in four starts and although she goes handicapping from a very low mark, can't really be entertained as a likely winner.

Already on his third trainer and despite being tried in a variety of headgear and a tongue-tie, has shown very little to date. Needs plenty of improvement to get involved on his handicap debut today.

Hasn't been seen out since last October and looked very regressive at the time. Hard to see why he should be turning things around today.

Did finish second at Hexham in December but that doesn't really tell the full story, as he was beaten miles. Trainer's handicap debutants always worth a second look in the market though, and this one is young enough to improve.

Forecasts

Presenting Julio (6/4), Grey Mountain Mist (7/2), Bobbythegangster (6/1), Mauna Kea (10/1), Cairnshill (11/1), Clay Allison (11/1), Hero De Villeneuve (16/1), Emigrated (20/1), Canova (20/1), Charlestown Boy (20/1), Ashjan (33/1), Baron Von Chill (33/1), Carrig Lily (33/1), Fast Decision (50/1)

Verdict

GREY MOUNTAIN MIST showed a willing attitude to hold them all off at Ballinrobe and with good recent form think on the ground here, looks the solid option to follow up under a penalty. Clay Allison might find conditions a bit more to his liking tonight and could throw down a challenge along with Mauna Kea. Ashjan has shown little to date but is worth a market check.
