Best effort to date came last month when scooping a 2m5f maiden hurdle around Tramore, respected now going handicapping with that confidence booster behind him.
Hit the frame in both runs last month, first over 2m4f at Wexford and latterly over 3m at this track. Raised 1lb, drops in trip now and should have a say in this.
He's a six-time winner over hurdles but the most recent of those wins was back in August 2014, gets 1lb back after lacklustre effort on switch to hurdling at Punchestown last month over 2m5f.
Justified favouritism to win a maiden hurdle at Punchestown in June and followed up with a maiden Flat win. Proved a little disappointing in both spheres throughout the rest of last season and not seen since. Handicap debut here, merits a market check.
Has gone 19 races since his last success but has posted some good efforts in the interim. Drops in trip having been well held over 3m at this track last month on first start since December.
Had some promising form over sticks before scoring at Limerick in March, rather fluffed final two hurdles there, but defied that to score nicely and there is surely more to come. Walsh booked.
Veteran is switching back from fences here and appears somewhat hard to catch these days. Won over fences at Limerick in March though efforts around that have been tame, has won over this C&D before.
Has only made the frame twice since his last success 15 races ago. Looks up against it based on tame effort over 2m3f at this track last month.
Patchy record overall, scored in a maiden hurdle over 2m1f at Ballinrobe in August, failed to build on it in two handicap outings thereafter. Poor when last seen at Gowran Park in October, back up in trip on return.
Two hurdles win came in December 2015 over 2m, has been poor mostly since that and was well held off 2lb higher mark in a 2m4f handicap at Tipperary last month.
Remains a maiden after five starts over timber, came closest on debut at Roscommon over 2m in August, struggled over 2m4f at Tipperary last month on return and gets 2lb back from assessor his trouble.
Ten-year-old isn't the most reliable, though ran a fair race at this track last month over 3m, is rated 1lb lower now and has first-time cheekpieces to aid his cause. Could be competitive over this shorter trip.
The mare is a five-race maiden and has plenty to find on last month's Fairyhouse run over 2m4f, where she never managed to get involved at the front end.
Forecasts
Admiral Brian (9/2), Ballyegan Hero (7/1), Rue Hill (7/1), Prince Charmin' (8/1), Platinum Empress (8/1), Petuna (8/1), Smokey Joe Joe (9/1), Pursecco (10/1), A Decent Excuse (12/1), William B (12/1), Courtncatcher (16/1), Rosie Alice (20/1), Coolmill (20/1)
PRINCE CHARMIN' appeared to be going the right way before his win at Limerick in March and but for a couple of iffy jumps at the final two flights, he'd surely have won that contest with much more authority. He still picked up nicely to get the job done and, with Walsh for company now, can progress again to land this prize. Ballyegan Hero comes here off a fine success at Tramore and could also have more to give while Admiral Brian and handicap debutant Petuna are the others meriting consideration.
- Prince Charmin'
- Ballyegan Hero
- Petuna
