Maiden winner at Chelmsford in June and ran a stormer off this rating over C&D in July when just denied off today's mark. Final two starts of last year were tame however and questions to answer now as a result.

Good winner of 7f handicap at Doncaster a year ago, though subsequently lost his way and let go by Richard Hannon at season's end. First start for this trainer and weighted to go well if producing his best stuff.

Became a bit frustrating last term in three starts, passing up some good chances but no mistake on return at Windsor 23 days ago, staying on well to win over extended mile. Could have more to give off 2lb higher mark and big player in this field.

Remains 7lb higher than his last winning mark, was a bit too keen for his own good last time over the mile at Kempton on the AW. Wouldn't be out of this if producing his best.

Won his maiden over this trip on the AW at Southwell and while unable to score since, he's gone close on multiple occasions in handicaps including over 1m2f at this track in July off a 1lb lower mark. Likely to be involved in the finish.

Forecasts

Commodity (4/9), Kestrel Dot Com (11/2), Wings Of Esteem (7/1), Dot Green (16/1), Fashaak (20/1)

Verdict

COMMODITY rewarded the faith shown in him by Sir Michael Stoute with a cosy success at Windsor on his reappearance and a 2lb rise doesn't appear harsh given there's a strong chance he will have plenty more to offer as the season goes on. Kestrel Dot Com would be a threat should he manage to settle better and run his race while Wings Of Esteem has run well at the track before and is fairly weighted to do so once more on first start for new yard. Dot Green hasn't offered her best for a little while but would get involved in this if she did now.
