Appears to be a shadow of former days when he was good enough to win from a mark of 80 and be competitive from higher. No win since September 2014 and this trip plenty short enough for him.
Nine-race maiden who has been running well in defeat. That is earning her little mercy from the handicapper. She was too keen last time when forced to make the running and there is no guarantee she will get a decent pace to run off here. Stable took this last year.
Placed once in 11 starts and largely disappointing over the past 18 months. Tailed off when last seen over hurdles in December. Hood has been removed.
Three of his four wins have been gained here. Last victory was gained from 8lb higher. Has offered little encouragement in his four starts back from an absence. Hard to recommend unless the market indicates he is about to bounce back.
Yet to win a race and appears to going the wrong way. Beaten an aggregate of 77L on his last two starts when finishing last.
May have been ridden too conservatively on her first over this trip in December. Has been found a weak race on her return, however yard have been out of luck recently with no winners and five seconds in the past few days.
C&D winner 11 days ago when looking in need of help from the handicapper. Step up in distance helped and trainer 6-25 with last time out winners on the Flat.
Remains a maiden after 17 races. Beginning to look short of pace and will not want this to be the tactical affair it appears on paper.
Winner of a 7f claimer and up considerably in distance on second start for new handler. Little sign of stamina in the pedigree and last of ten on her reappearance.
Produced a career best at Windsor on first run for new yard. Set a slow pace that day and form is best treated with caution.
Forecasts
Reckless Wave (11/4), Star Ascending (9/2), Archipeligo (9/2), Pour L'Amour (5/1), Leonardo (11/2), Inflexiball (7/1), Competent (33/1), Callaghan (40/1), Infiniti (50/1), Teak (50/1)
Course specialist Archipeligo is one to check in the market having had a few runs back from an absence which have seen him drop to a lenient mark. For now it may pay to concentrate on those who have proven their wellbeing. Star Ascending was a game winner here last time but he looked on the wrong side of the handicapper that day and even more so now in what looks a stronger race. Pour L'Amour has done better since dropping into this grade and her yard are going well. RECKLESS WAVE hails from a yard that have done well here during the winter. They have a good line on the form for this with Smiley Bagel having beaten some of her more dangerous looking rivals. She was given a lot to do on her first attempt at this trip last time. Ed Walker's filly has looked progressive and, with her trainer having an above average record with break returners, she is the one to beat.
- Reckless Wave
- Pour L'amour
- Star Ascending
