Slowly away on debut and finished eighth of eleven in a division of the Brocklesby at Doncaster (5f) early last month. Could do better for stronger handling, with that race yielding subsequent winners.

Sixth foal by Lonhro out of Pure Illusion, and therefore bred for further than this minimum trip. A half-brother to History Book, this newcomer makes the long journey South from Middleham.

Improved upon his debut sixth behind the useful Rock Of Estonia at Windsor, when going down by a short-head to Diamond Pursuit over C&D last week. Obvious contender based upon that showing.

€48,000 yearling with a speedy pedigree (by Society Rock out of Consensus). A half-brother to various juvenile winners, so very interesting to see what the market makes of him on racecourse debut.

10/1
Slowly away and hampered after the start, but beaten by just over a length by Get Even on debut at Wolverhampton early last month. Switches to turf, with improvement expected and unlikely to be too far away.

First foal newcomer by Kheleyf out of Amistress, and bred to stay further, so could find this trip plenty sharp enough giving away the benefit of experience to a number of rivals.

Forecasts

Cardsharp (8/11), Milton Road (2/1), Felisa (10/1), Vegas Boy (16/1), Captain Kissinger (20/1), Red Snapper (50/1)

Verdict

MILTON ROAD sets the benchmark on the strength of last week's narrow C&D defeat. He's more experienced than the other runners, and admittedly perhaps a shade more exposed, but this looks the ideal opportunity to get off the mark. The likes of Captain Kissinger and Felisa can be expected to do better on their second outings, whilst Vegas Boy would appear to be the pick of the newcomers.

  3. Vegas Boy
