Remains a maiden after ten runs on the AW, drops in trip for this turf but needs to find major improvement for switch to this surface to play any role.

Flopped here in 6f maiden in October when last seen on good to soft, previously had made impressive debut in August at Newmarket when second over 6f. Will go close in this if able to repeat that effort.

Home bred daughter of Captain Gerrard. Dam won once in 32 starts, was well beaten off at Brighton on debut last month and hood is reached for now.

Shaped well when placed in maidens at Thirsk and York for Tim Easterby, though hasn't been able to build on those efforts. Drop to 5f is interesting on first start for new trainer.

Compton Place filly shaped well enough for a fair way over 6f on Pontefract debut last back end before fading. May not have relished soft ground but needs to show more on return over shorter trip.

Verdict

Bequia made a promising debut at Newmarket last summer though was bitterly disappointing next time out at this track over 6f in October. Reappearing now, he's entitled to plenty respect on his first effort but may appear short enough in the betting. Ocelot should appreciate this shorter trip on first start for a new trainer and has some potential while ALLEGHENY BAY has been knocking on the door at Lingfield lately and might be able to prize it open on turf debut despite some concerns over the drop to this trip.
  1. Allegheny Bay
  2. Bequia
  3. Ocelot
