Winner of four from six over hurdles last year, though did rather have limitations exposed in Grade Two Persian War at Chepstow, may do better over fences for leading yard.
Winner of three races from a dozen starts over timber, not disgraced in graded company at Chepstow in October. Makes chasing bow in a race the champion trainer won last year at a track where his runners do well.

Ran well enough in March over 3m in Taunton hurdles contest, drops back in trip for this and may have a bit to find with his two rivals.

Forecasts

Bagad Bihoue (6/5), Forever Field (6/4), Midnight Cowboy (4/1)

Verdict

There wasn't much between Bagad Bihoue and FOREVER FIELD over timber but it might prove best to side with the latter for this chasing debut. His trainer will remain on a high having been crowned champion on Saturday and he did win this race last year at a venue where he tends to do well. The Nicholls runner should give him plenty to think about while it would be folly to rule out Midnight Cowboy in an open heat where all three are tackling these obstacles for the first time.
  1. Forever Field
  2. Bagad Bihoue
  3. Midnight Cowboy
