Maiden hurdle winner at Downpatrick in October, hasn't really built on that success over shorter trips. Upped in distance for Fairyhouse handicap last month, didn't find as much in the closing stages as had seemed probable. Not ruled out.

Won maiden hurdle over 2m here in November and followed up next time at Fairyhouse over 2m4f, not disgraced last week in valuable handicap at Punchestown and will surely play a role here if none the worse for that run.

Career-best to score in 11-runner Tramore handicap over 2m5f last month, raised 4lb for that success and looks to be needing another leap forward to add to it in this field.

Maiden after three runs on the Flat, well held in two maiden hurdles over 2m since switching to this game. Up significantly in trip now, faces an arduous task seemingly in this field.

Forecasts

Bel Ami De Sivola (1/2), Monbeg Notorious (5/4), Ballela Boy (2/1), Ned's Island (12/1), Sir Issac (25/1)

Verdict

Monbeg Notorious is potentially open to more progress in this and has already showcased his talent over these obstacles in three runs this season, he will no doubt have a major role to play. BEL AMI DE SIVOLA won here over 2m in November and showed enough in a hot contest at Punchestown last week to merit serious consideration if Noel Meade takes his chance on this quick turnaround. Ballela Boy, the third Gigginstown runner, is also capable of being in the shake-up while Ned's Island must improve on his career-best at Tramore last time to gain a significant chunk of the prizemoney on offer.
  1. Bel Ami De Sivola
  2. Monbeg Notorious
  3. Ballela Boy
