Winner of two of four starts on turf last year, including nursery over a mile at this track, could be capable of good deal better this season and booking of Berry is a positive for this return.
Just the two starts last year, improved at Windsor on second outing in October to make every yard of the running when stepping up to this trip. Manner of that success puts him right in the firing line here for powerful connections.
Stepped up to the mile on final two starts of last year, narrowly denied on turf at Newbury before opening his account at Chelmsford on the AW in November. Appeared to relish the stamina test on both occasions so this extra furlong is expected to suit.
Positive tactics reaped rewards when causing a surprise over a mile at this track in September, holding on well, but wasn't able to see out similar tactics at Nottingham upped to this track next time and finished weakly. Tough task to win this on return.
Won his maiden over 7f at this track in September, though struggled over longer trip in final three outings of last year. 4lb lower now and may go well again on this course.
Ran well enough on return at Cork over this trip earlier in the month, tiring in the closing stages. Entitled to be fitter on the strength of that run and one to note in this field.
Decent run in a mile maiden on the AW at Kempton earlier in the month in seasonal bow. Showed some promise in four maidens last year too but worth recalling he was very disappointing on his previous visit to this track.
Was entitled to score in a weak Lingfield maiden over 1m2f in February, since struggled in Wolverhampton handicap over this trip however. Has to bounce back from that, but that is not to be ruled out.

Forecasts
Adamant (13/8), Elas Ruby (9/2), Galactic Prince (9/2), Haulani (7/1), Earthly (15/2), Plant Pot Power (12/1), Set In Stone (14/1), Viking Hoard (16/1), Koeman (25/1), Mr Scaff (25/1)
Adamant is an obvious starting point, given his impressive success at Windsor on his final start of last year. He should go well for his powerful connections on his return to the track and is more than capable of taking a prize like this. Elas Ruby also showed his liking for this sort of trip at the backend of last year, opening his account at Chelmsford over a mile, similarly he is expected to run well. It might be worth chancing HAULANI for this contest, he won over the mile here last season and has an excellent rider booked for this afternoon. His experience of the track may be an asset. Having run well at Cork earlier in the month, Set In Stone is also on the shortlist and any market support would be noted.
