Bred to be useful and showed up well on his debut over 1m2f at Windsor just failing to reel in the first two. His pedigree would suggest that this extra trip would suit and he should be able to build on that first run.

Sixth foal who cost £300,000 as a yearling closely related to useful 1m/1m1f winner Almoradi and half-brother to 1m3f winner Almadan. Yard have made a bright start to the season and one to note here.

Looked one that would improve as a three-year-old after his promising run as a two-year-old at Redcar on his sole start as a juvenile. Beaten at odds-on switched to the AW for his only start so far this year but that wasn't a disappointment as he was beaten by a similarly well-bred and promising type. Still holds a Derby and Irish Derby entry.

Wasn't cheap either as a foal or yearling and on pedigree he made some appeal. Debut offered something to take forward and he steps up in trip here from that first run although this still looks a tough task.

Third foal who cost £100,000 as a foal and the same amount as a yearling. Dam was a two-year-old winner over 6f and there are some other smart relations in the pedigree. Interesting newcomer but could have had an easier debut.

Forecasts

Maghfoor (11/8), Humble Hero (9/4), Bristol Missile (5/2), Striker (16/1), Royal Headley (25/1)

Verdict

Another small field of maidens go to post here and it probably gives MAGHFOOR a good opportunity to open his account after getting beaten as an odds-on favourite last time out. Bristol Missile looks as though he’ll be able to improve on his promising start that he made at Windsor and Humble Hero is a debutante worth noting from a yard that does well with this type.
  1. Maghfoor
  2. Bristol Missile
  3. Humble Hero
