Horse A-Z
Consistent performer in point-to-points, where he has won four times on ground described as good to soft or soft. Sole run under rules was when fifth, beaten 9¾L in this last year and will have a bit to find on that evidence.

Runner-up in last year's Intermediate Point-To-Point Final at Cheltenham and has won five of his 26 starts in the amateur game. Runner-up twice from three starts under rules, when starting a decent prices each time and could give a good run for each-way money again.

Only other rules run was in a bumper in 2015 but has won four of his last five point-to-point starts, including his last two in cheek pieces. Goes on fast ground and is entitled to plenty of respect here.

Won a maiden point-to-point in February and has put in several other good recent runs in that sphere, but overall form suggests that he is going to find a few of these too good.
Has won three of his five point-to-points in the past year or so and only just held in one of the other two. Made his debut in this type of contest at Taunton earlier in the month and went very well. Looks one of the leading contenders this time.

0-28 under rules, though made the frame five times over hurdles. Finally came good in a maiden open point-to-point at the sixth attempt last time out when sporting cheek pieces, but looks up against it in his first hunter chase.

Makes his rules debut here but has won three of his eight point-to-points, including his last two. Particular merit in the latest of those after 26 months off the track and he is likely to try to win it from the front.
Has completed a hat-trick of point-to-point wins in the last seven weeks and is clearly on very good terms with himself. Runner-up in his latest race has come out and won since (Tinkers Hill Tommy), so he looks likely to be very competitive on his hunter chase debut.

Prolific point-to-point winner, including two this season. Finished around 7L clear of the reopposing Captain Camelot when runner-up in this last year and will be better for the return to this trip after lacking the toe for 2m4f last time. Should go very well.

Makes his hunter chase debut today and has claimed three of his eight point-to-point, including last time out over shorter than this. May be just a few pounds short of the best of these, though can get competitive.

In tremendous form in point-to-points, winning his last three with plenty to spare (last two in cheek pieces). Those races not as strong as the opposition he will encounter here and will need to do better to be winning on his hunter chase introduction.
Runner-up to Ramble On in a point-to-point a couple of starts ago and went on to win his third such contest last time. Usually very competitive in that sphere and every chance that he can get involved on his hunter chase debut.

Another who comes into this after recent point-to-point success. One of his two recent wins was in cheek pieces and they will need to be effective again here. Best form so far has been with cut in the ground, so still a bit to prove.
Another prolific point-to-point winner having scored 10 times from 18 attempts, including three of her last four. Had the reopposing Doctor Braveheart 14L back in third when scoring at Pyle last time and looks a leading contender on that evidence. Has won on good to firm.

Forecasts

Repeat Business (4/1), Moral Hazard (4/1), Indian Leader (9/2), Spencer Moon (7/1), Ramble On (9/1), Watch The Birdie (10/1), Tinkers Hill Tommy (16/1), Frelia (16/1), Moreece (20/1), Pink Eyed Pedro (20/1), Romeo Is Bleeding (25/1), Captain Camelot (28/1), Doctor Braveheart (33/1), War Path (33/1), Manhattan Mead (40/1)

Verdict

An open-looking contest where there is perhaps more guesswork than usual due to the lack of previous hunter chase form involved. Repeat Business looks likely to get competitive again after being runner-up in this last year, while Indian Leader and Moral Hazard should also get competitive. Ramble On and Tinkers Hill Tommy should not be far apart in the shake-up, though the suggestion is to go with the prolific point-to-point winner WATCH THE BIRDIE, who handles the forecast ground well, is in good form and also has the mares' allowance on her side.
  1. Watch The Birdie
  2. Ramble On
  3. Repeat Business
