4/1
Narrow winner of a 2m4f novices hurdle at Towcester in November 2016, but beaten from this mark when favourite for both subsequent starts in handicap company (withdrawn at Warwick on Tuesday). Might prove better suited by this drying ground and respected.

His two career successes have come over longer trips and on softer ground, but at least he has demonstrated a willingness to battle in big field affairs. Vulnerable from this mark at this sharper track/shorter trip.

Slow developer in bumpers, but has won two of his four starts over hurdles, and was only denied by Marcus Antonius on a hat-trick bid at Kelso in December (third Rhymers Stone progressive since). Could have more to offer on drying ground back up to this more suitable 2m4f trip.

Has shown he's not one of the stables leading lights in three starts in novice and maiden hurdles, but is with a good trainer and could be suited by moving into this grade. Interesting to see how he handles better ground, but an opening mark of 113 isn't knockout generous.

Eight race maiden, but a three time runner up as connections reach for the first-time cheek-pieces seeking an extra ounce of improvement. Half-brother to Little Josh, and this drop in trip could also be helpful.

Didn't take to fences and rejuvenated by a return to hurdles as demonstrated by winning over 3m at Musselburgh last month. A previous C&D winner (June 2016), but winning opportunities will become more scarce from this lofty perch of 110.

Hasn't taken this excellent trainer too long to figure out this seven year old, and he was off the mark on his handicap debut at Newcastle earlier this month when readily accounting for Captain Mowbray by 4L. Up 10lb, but could this be the 'sign off' winner for his veteran rider?

12/1
12 race maiden (although often placed), and was 14L third in a maiden hurdle at this track during the April Festival of 2016. Beaten 5L by Buckled on his penultimate start at Musselburgh last month and looks unlikely to reverse those placings.

12/1
Hurdles maiden (four starts in 2017), but has grasped the nettle on the Flat more latterly on the Tapeta at Newcastle and Wolverhampton, and showed a similar level of form when third back on grass at Redcar over Easter. Interesting back over hurdles.

AW winner who escapes a penalty for last week's narrow success in a conditional jockeys event at Market Rasen. Appeared suited by that sound surface and similar conditions likely today. Due to go up 5lb, and rider able to claim his full 5lb allowance here (3lb last time).

Forecasts

Druid's Folly (4/1), Starplex (9/2), Black Ivory (6/1), Stick To The Plan (13/2), Arabian Oasis (8/1), Twist On Ginge (10/1), Areema (12/1), Mr Globetrotter (12/1), The Jazz Singer (14/1), Buckled (14/1), Katalystic (14/1)

Verdict

Arabian Oasis will be rightly popular despite the slight step up in class from Market Rasen. He's unpenalised, and his rider can claim his full 5lb allowance today so he's clearly well in. At the other end of the scale, STARPLEX has been upped 10lb for his Newcastle victory, but he will also encounter similar ground conditions today and is an unexposed sort in handicaps and now represents a most talented dual purpose trainer. Will he be the horse to send Brian Harding out a day earlier than expected with a winner?
  1. Starplex
  2. Arabian Oasis
  3. Black Ivory
