A filly out of Westerner, she changed hands for €62,000 as a 3yo and represents powerful owners on racecourse debut. Small yard is without a winner in 12 months and while she's bred for jumping, any market confidence would warrant respect.
Trainer has his string in fine form but isn't noted for bumper winners and has just a five per-cent strike rate in this sphere. Schiaparelli gelding is appearing on track for the first time.

Beneficial gelding is having his first outing in this and breeding suggests that he'll be seen to best effect down the line with an emphasis on stamina.
Boasts plenty experience having raced in five of these already, latest runner-up finish behind Debuchet at Limerick early this month is solid form and commands plenty respect.
A €65,000 3yo Shantou gelding, he comes here for his first outing and represents a trainer in fine form that knows exactly how to prepare a runner for this type of task, no surprise should he go well.
Duke Of Marmalade gelding was able for little more than a minor role on debut at Thurles last month. Might have learned from that experience but this appears to be a sterner test regardless.
Trans Island gelding doesn't boast especially strong claims on paper for this first outing, yard hasn't had many runners of late and may isn't noted for strong record in bumpers.
Getaway gelding in familiar colours and is closely related to former Champion Hurdler Jezki, trainer is positively thriving of late and market support would require heeding.
A €26,000 3yo Arcadio gelding, he made an encouraging start when runner-up in a point-to-point at Loughanmore recently and should be ready to run well on rules bow.

Modest debut in the point-to-point sphere in February, will be sporting a hood for this racecourse bow and doesn't jump off the page as a betting proposition.
A gelding out of Notnowcato, he's making his first start in this contest and represents a yard that has yet to saddle a bumper winner in 23 attempts. Limited expectations.

Gelding out of Arakan, breeding suggests more of an emphasis on stamina will be required before he is in his comfort zone.
A Getaway gelding, he wears famous silks for this racecourse bow and has got to be respected given leading UK trainer has opted for this starting point.

Was sent off favourite on debut at Thurles last month but quickly faded out of contention and beat just one rival home. Hood added now and should be capable of better in time.
Gelding out of Robin Des Champs was acquired for €250,000 as a 3yo, represents leading owners for racecourse debut and may have a bright future ahead.
€35,000 3yo Milan gelding represents the would-be champion trainer in Gigginstown colours with Cheltenham-winning amateur up. Worth check in the betting.
Hurricane Run gelding is one of two for the yard in this contest, trainer not noted for bumper success but string are in rude health.
One of many newcomers, trainer has been quiet with bumpers horses of late but does possess a fair strike rate over the years.

Improved run on second start to just fail at Limerick last month, one of two for the Elliott yard in this contest and jockey bookings hint that he's the one to be with.
Scorpion gelding is one of two newcomers to represent the flying Harrington team in this, market may be the best guide as to their respective chances.
Another gelding out of Robin Des Champs in this field, he's a newcomer to the track and in the absence of a contender from Closutton, has a notable bumper rider on top.
A High Chaparral gelding, he is well related to a number of Flat winners and is one of two for the trainer here. Wears a tongue strap.
A filly out of Jeremy, she makes little appeal on paper for this racecourse bow against the boys.

Verdict

Cornelius Sulla and STOOSHIE both had to settle for second place at Limerick on their most recent respective starts. The former doesn't lack for experience in this sphere and showed improved form in that run, though he's had five attempts at this now. Stooshie came on nicely for his debut and wouldn't have needed many more strides to be in front last time. With his excellent jockey booking in place once more, he had fair claims of going one better now. There are plenty newcomers to keep an eye on and the market is an essential guide to assessing their merits but Pottsie and British raider Musical Slave are two of the more likely sorts.
  1. Stooshie
  2. Musical Slave
  3. Cornelius Sulla
