Has performed well on his previous two visits here and should come on for his run at Musselburgh in a small field conditions event over 5f. Strong traveller who should be competitive off top weight with his mark dropping below 100.

Won twice last year and always looks best over distances short of 6f which he ran over last time out. Not seen to best effect on that occasion (pulled too hard) and will be seen to better effect over shorter in a race run at a strong pace.

Winner of a maiden last year at Doncaster over 6f and showed plenty of promise after that in big field handicaps although his mark kept going up without winning. Showed improved form for his new yard first time out for them when taking a competitive 5f Beverley handicap. Still looks unexposed and even under a penalty could well be ahead of this mark of 95.

He showed some useful form as a juvenile including winning a Group 3 but the losing run is getting longer and longer. Never dangerous behind Edward Lewis last time out and would do well to turn round the form with that one although will look well handicapped if his new stable can get him back to form.

Last win came over this trip off a mark of 90 at Newcastle but that was nearly two years ago when Gosforth Park still had a turf track. Best runs since then have come over 7f and debateable if he has the pace now for this trip against some real speedsters.

Back-to-back wins have contributed to the stables good start to the season and he's 2/2 for the yard. Both wins have come over 5f at Newcastle and he was very much suited by the way that the race developed last time out (strong pace collapsed late on). Now off a 9lb higher mark but still looks of interest if he gets a strong pace to chase again here back on turf.

Looks to be the second string of the yards runners and is a dual C&D winner with the last win coming off a 3lb higher mark. Hardly the most prolific winner of late but the handicapper is relenting and he shaped well over at Doncaster (6f) last time out (better than distance beaten) having been poorly drawn. This may still prove a little tough but is one to watch on his next few runs off a similar mark.

Forecasts

Edward Lewis (7/4), Judicial (10/3), Northgate Lad (13/2), Line Of Reason (7/1), Art Collection (10/1), Another Wise Kid (11/1), Burnt Sugar (12/1)

Verdict

It goes without saying that this is a very competitive sprint handicap with some solid handicap types who are proven at this level taking on some improvers. Those in the former camp would include Line Of Reason and Judicial both of whom are strong travellers at this trip. Another Wise Kid could also be included with that duo given his promising run last time out. The improvers are Art Collection although it remains to be seen how he goes back on turf and this may be best left to EDWARD LEWIS who can continue his upward curve in handicaps with Listed and Group class sprints not ruled out in the future.
