Suited to a sound surface and has won a hurdle and two point-to-points when conditions have been right. Latest run at Howick suggests he is coming to hand and this trip looks about right for him. Stable are in form.

Won a decent point-to-point in January last year, but beaten 14L in same contest this time around. Form of his latest run looks suspect.

Winner of four point-to-points and a hunter chase (made all) here over 2m4f. Tends to be ridden with more restraint nowadays and latest effort at Badbury Rings was encouraging. Trip and ground look ideal.

Both point-to-point victories have come under today's rider including at Cocklebarrow three weeks ago. Tailed off since under a different rider, but his overall form suggests he may come up short.
Winner of two point-to-points in 19 starts but latest victory was three years ago. Others have stronger claims. Looks one of the most likely pacemakers in this.

Last hunter chase victory was this race in 2013. Has won multiple point-to-points since including two last summer. His latest run, back from an absence, shows he retains his ability and enthusiasm despite his advancing years. Leading rider is 10-34 in chases this season.

Winner over hurdles at Perth three years ago but has failed to add to that since. Proved reluctant to jump off at Leicester last month, but eventually finished fourth after his rider eased him down close home and lost third. Would have claims on his latest run behind two very good horses at Sheriff Hutton three weeks ago.
Winner of 12-46 in the point-to-point field but is no longer the force he was. Has a walk over and a last of two on his card for this season. May need a stiffer test than this.

Winner of a member's race at Kingston Blount three weeks ago, her first victory since December 2012. Likes to force the pace but has competition for that role. Cheekpieces now go on.

Forecasts

Bound For Glory (11/8), Always Archie (5/1), I Believe (8/1), The Banastoir (8/1), Presentandcorrect (8/1), Blinding Lights (9/1), Driftwood Pride (16/1), Cab On Times (20/1), The Rodeo Clown (50/1)

Verdict

BOUND FOR GLORY is the pick of these on point-to-point and hunter chase form. There should be a decent pace in this and his rider will need to be aware of the dangers of lying too far out of her ground. I Believe is one of those likely to be pressing on and she likes these trips in the 2m4f-2m6f range. Presentandcorrect is an admirable veteran who will have the services of a top amateur. Always Archie is worth a check in the market with conditions looking ideal and the yard in good form.
  1. Bound For Glory
  2. I Believe
  3. Presentandcorrect
