Dead-heated for first in a maiden bumper at Stratford last time, with the favourite held back in fourth. Stable in good form and with a decent strike rate in these races. Tough under a penalty but market check advised.
Point-to-point scorer who improved on his Sedgefield bumper debut to win last time at Musselburgh, beating an odds-on favourite and several other better fancied runners in the process. Not ruled out under his penalty.
Had a couple of runs in bumpers last spring, but trainer gave him time and that paid dividends when he beat a useful performer/odds-on favourite by a distance on heavy ground at Hexham last time. Penalised too here, but conditions no problem and looks tough to beat.
Has run well for current yard in both starts here, winning last time out and now carrying a penalty. Appears to be first string on jockey bookings, though not sure his form is as strong as stablemate.

Involved for a long way at Musselburgh on debut and should come on for that this time. If doing so he would have frame claims.

Beaten a country mile on his Newcastle debut, where it is possible that both the experience and the heavy ground were too much for him. Dam won a point-to-point, so there is plenty of stamina in the locker but needs a lot more today.
Yard not known for its bumper winners and this €4,600 purchase, out of an unraced half-sister to a 3m chase winner, is probably one to watch again after a modest debut at Perth last summer.

Comes here on the back of a point-to-point win. Dam was a bumper winner and a half-sister to two other winners in this sphere, so this gelding is entitled to plenty of respect first time out and it would be no surprise to see him go close.
Cost £105,000 in December and is a half-brother to five hurdle/chase winners as well as useful bumper performer Criq Rock. Represents top yard with a 22% strike rate in bumpers and it will be a surprise if he doesn't figure.

Dam a bumper winner, as was her half-sister. Belied his 66/1 SP when running a 1L third on debut at Doncaster in November and probably ran to a similar level behind the top class bumper winner Cap Soleil at Cheltenham in January. Switched yards since then and may be able to improve with champ booked.

€35,000 purchase and half-brother to a winner in this sphere. Dam also a bumper winner and half-sister to another high class winner of a bumper. Plenty going for him on pedigree then and champion trainer elect has a 26% strike rate in these contests. Portents good.
Both runs have been here, going well on debut to be a close third (soft), before disappointing when favourite next time. Heavy ground could have been an excuse there and could do better on this dryer surface. Not ruled out.

Forecasts

Pym (12/5), Flashing Glance (5/1), Ballyvic Boru (11/2), Cap St Vincent (13/2), Donna's Delight (7/1), Aye Aye Charlie (15/2), Baracalu (15/2), Saint Freule (10/1), Manetti (16/1), Cool Mix (20/1), Keyboard Gangster (33/1), Judge Earle (50/1), Rooster Spirit (50/1)

Verdict

Check the market for clues where Saint Freule is concerned, while Rooster Spirit might be able to return to form on this dryer surface. Flashing Glance is also among those of interest, along with Baracalu and Manetti. Cap St Vincent is likely to be very competitive, but PYM has great credentials from this sphere and with a trainer hungry for every winner he can get, the gelding should be ready to go very close on debut.

  3. Cap St Vincent
