Well beaten in the JLT at Cheltenham, but returned to form in no uncertain terms with his 1L defeat of Cloudy Dream over this trip in an Aintree Grade One last time. On the same terms today he is the one they all have to beat.

Scheduled to run on Friday. Emerging as a top handicapper judged on recent Festival efforts in defeat. This is a fair bit tougher, although he does receive weight, but would be a slight surprise if he proved good enough to lower the colours of the top three.

Verdict

A cracking small field assembled for this and Flying Angel is very much the one to beat on the evidence of his Aintree win last time. However, consistency is not his strong point and CLOUDY DREAM has that in abundance. It would be harsh to knock him for either of his runner-up efforts in Grade Ones of late and he might just be able to reverse the form with his Aintree conqueror. Clan Des Obeaux is the obvious danger to the pair of them and is not ruled out.
