Needed a trip on the Flat in France and showed improved form for the step up to 3m at Ascot last time. Shorter trip in what may be a tactical battle is not ideal. Has looked a complicated ride and one not to trust at prohibitive odds. Stable landed this twelve months ago.
Makes hurdling debut having promised little in four bumpers. Needs to raise his game for a yard that are 5-130 with hurdlers in the past five seasons.

Verdict

This is a straight match between Eaton Hill and PILANSBERG. The former was a shade fortunate to beat the useful Mount Mews at Wetherby but the fourth has scored since so there is merit in the performance. PILANSBERG looked a tricky sort in a good handicap at Ascot last time and had done so previously at Fakenham. He undoubtedly is the pick on form but his quirky nature suggests he is capable of squandering the opportunity.
