Goes well fresh and has proved himself to be well suited to summer ground. Has been off the track since chasing home the very useful Emerging Force last time. Clear top-rated here on official ratings and stable have won two of the last three runnings of this. Amateur rider has ridden a couple of Hunter Chase winners this Spring.

Lightly raced and formerly with Paul Nicholls. Fortunes have changed in line with those of his trainer over the past month or so. Will set the pace but official ratings suggest he needs the forecast favourite to have an off day.

Has run well below his official mark on both starts over fences. Yet to race on ground as quick as this and his sire's stock tend to like softer conditions. Faces a stiff task which is made even tougher given the current form of the stable.

Forecasts

Southfield Vic (11/8), Bugsie Malone (2/1), Weststreet (2/1)

Verdict

It is hard to make a case out for Weststreet given his two races over fences suggest he is not even close to his BHA rating of 122. That mark would still give him something to find with SOUTHFIELD VIC. He beat Minella Daddy at Worcester last autumn who has won two races since and is now rated 145. He was beaten by Emerging Force at Exeter next time and there is nothing of that calibre here. Bugsie Malone is a former stable companion of the selection who exploited an attractive mark at Kempton. He has a lot to find on these terms but is an uncomplicated sort whose style of running is ideally suited to this track.
