Last win came in a 2m4f Ludlow chase in January and has failed to complete in both starts since. That has to be a concern for this return to hurdles and although she has won from significantly higher than this in the past, that was some time ago.
Form has been in and out of late and he is another whose latest win was in a chase. Stays well and enjoys some cut, but needs a confidence boost and not easy to fancy from what is still 4lb higher than last hurdle win.
Comes here in form after success at Newbury last time, scoring by 6L from a mark of 113. 9lb higher today and clearly one to consider given that he is back on song.
Last success was 18 months ago at Cheltenham from this mark. Held on all starts from higher pitches since then, but can't be ruled out now that the assessor has relented.
Placed on all four starts this season on soft or heavy ground and has plenty of experience at this track. Now handicapping from a mark of 119, which looks stiff enough, though a market check is advised.
0-9 so far but that does not tell the full story and has been competitive in last three contests over 2m5f-3m. Conditions should not be a problem, though another 2lb rise for not winning leaves nagging doubts that he will again find one or two too good.
Sole rules success was over a similar trip at Chepstow in December (good) in novices' company. Well beaten on all starts since under penalty and mark therefore looks taxing enough for first run in a handicap.
Ended a string of hefty defeats when scoring over 3m2f (soft) at Warwick last time. Raised a tough looking 9lb for that win and has not yet been good enough to back up a success, so percentage call is to take him on here.
Won here over 2m4½f (soft) in February and followed up on heavy at Newcastle last month. Has gone up 15lb as a result of those wins. Tries this far for the first time and shapes as though he will see it out, so looks a very interesting contender.
Comes here on the back of a Hexham maiden hurdle win last time out and has gone up just 2lb for that. Unexposed over this new trip and likely to be competitive.
Scored at this venue over 2m5½f (heavy) last month by 12L, though held from 8lb higher at Kelso (3m2f, soft) last time. Rarely runs a bad race but is exposed and others preferred for win purposes.
Has seen plenty of action since the turn of the year, eventually winning last time at Sedgefield over 3m3f (good) from 4lb lower. Has run well but never won from higher marks than last time's 106 before, so looks to have each-way claims.
Last win was in a Carlisle handicap chase 13 months ago (2m4f, good). 7lb lower here, but has not been able to win over hurdles from today's mark twice already this season.
Point-to-point winner who is a maiden under rules, though went well enough in defeat over a similar trip to this at Kempton last time. Raised 4lb for that and should again go very well now that she has found her level.
Badly out of form of late and sole success was in novices' company a couple of years ago (good). Has run well in a handicap from 20lb higher than this, but clearly a very risky proposition given recent efforts.
Forecasts
Beer Goggles (11/2), Gulshanigans (6/1), Silent Steps (7/1), Doctor Look Here (9/1), Full Jack (10/1), Vasco D'Ycy (10/1), Capard King (10/1), Towering (12/1), Acdc (14/1), Lochnell (16/1), Jac The Legend (16/1), Robinroyale (20/1), Trongate (20/1), Land Of Vic (25/1), Apachee Prince (40/1)
One or two of these look well in on old form, but we would have liked to have seen more from them lately and preference is for VASCO D'YCY, who has no concerns on recent performances and shapes as though this trip will suit. Silent Steps can get competitive, while Jac The Legend could be in the hunt for prize money along with Acdc, Lochnell and Gulshanigans.
