Only had one run since taking a Bangor novices' chase (2m1½f, good) last spring and that was when pulled up over hurdles in January. Handicapper has dropped him 2lb since that win, but this is a tough ask after little recent action, even with cheek pieces to provide possible assistance.

Was in good form in Ireland last summer over both hurdles and fences. Has changed yards since his last run in September. Needs to improve on what we have seen to be winning from this mark after a lengthy break.

Musselburgh novices' chase winner two starts ago (2m4f, good), though a slight disappointment that he didn't finish closer when beaten favourite in a three-runner Market Rasen novices' handicap last time. Same mark here and a bit to prove now.

C&D winner in October on good to soft from 7lb lower, though not hugely competitive on subsequent jumps starts from similar marks. Needs to improve a few pounds to be up to winning this.

Just pipped at Catterick in February or otherwise would be coming here chasing a four-timer, after going back to that venue for two wins over 2m3½f since. Raised 13lb since the most recent of those, but it was by 10L and there is still scope for more over this shorter trip if jockey gives his usual positive ride.

15L winner of a Sedgefield handicap chase (2m3½f, good) in August, but ran very well in a narrow defeat next time out from today's mark. Ground probably not ideal when well beaten here last time, but that should have put him straight for this after a break and looks very interesting with champ up.

Made all to win at Kelso (2m1f, heavy) last time and raised just 4lb for that. Perhaps a little to prove on this less testing ground, though did handle good on one try in France and entitled to claims with feather weight.

Forecasts

Forest Des Aigles (9/4), Nomoreblackjack (9/4), Ash Park (5/1), Avidity (15/2), Cooper's Friend (8/1), Chitu (16/1), Fair Loch (16/1)

Verdict

Nomoreblackjack is in good form and if Danny Cook produces his usual positive ride then he should be be in the mix once again, while Forest Des Aigles also looks a leading player. The suggestion, however, is COOPER'S FRIEND, who returns to more suitable ground and the booking of Richard Johnson looks very positive.
  1. Cooper's Friend
  2. Forest Des Aigles
  3. Nomoreblackjack
