Made most when scoring at Stratford last May from a 1lb higher mark. Will have needed the run 19 days ago when unable to dominate from the front. Faces further competition for the lead in this.

Did well on first three starts for new yard before running as though something was amiss last time. Returns from a break and has gone well fresh in the past. Yet to race on ground as fast as this and best efforts have come with plenty of cut underfoot.

Winner of a couple of low grade summer hurdles and faced some hard tasks subsequently. More realistically assessed now but this trip may be on the sharp side. Has the benefit of a "sighter" over these fences in January.

Sole win in a point-to-point came three years ago. No show at long odds in two hunter chases this spring and makes debut for new yard.

Fine second on last start for Tom Gretton in July. That form has worked out well and not harshly treated on chasing debut for new stable. Jockey booking looks positive.

Forecasts

Fine Jewellery (2/1), Jaunty Inflight (9/4), Polo The Mumm (5/2), Lined With Silver (7/1), Billy My Boy (8/1), Cold Knight (10/1), Triggywinkle (12/1), Tuffstuff (20/1)

Verdict

Few of these convince but it may be worth taking a risk on the fitness of FINE JEWELLERY. His rider is booked to come here from Cheltenham for the one ride and the stable are 4-12 in the past fortnight. The form of his last run has worked out well enough and he has more going for him than most in this contest. Triggywinkle may want a shorter trip and Polo The Mumm has looked better over further. Jaunty Inflight is still to prove himself on ground this quick and was a huge disappointment last time. Cold Knight would take some catching if allowed to dictate matters up front whilst Billy My Boy does not appeal as being potentially well handicapped.
