Won over 6f here on debut (good) in June and was tried in a Group Two next. Not up to that standard but still ran some respectable races in defeat later in the campaign. Handicap debut here and no reason why he can't make positive strides this season.

Sole win was over this trip in a Newcastle maiden in August. Placed in six of his eight other starts and likely to do better today than in his recent pipe opener. Interesting.

Plenty to like about how he won on his only start last season, a 7f maiden at Ayr on good to soft. Was staying on well there, so this extra furlong very much a positive. Mark looks fair for this handicap debut and a market check very much advised to gauge confidence on his return.

Enjoyed a decent 2016 until form tailed off later on. Returned with a win at Chelmsford (7f) earlier in the month and races from 4lb higher today. Pedigree suggests that this may be the extent of her stamina, but wasn't stopping last time and has fitness on her side.

Consistent for the most part last season and finally got his nose in front on his ninth start at Catterick in October. Gelded since then and returns here from 4lb higher. Needs to improve but no reason why he can't be competitive.

Forecasts

Kitten's Johnstown (11/8), Devil's Bridge (7/2), In First Place (7/2), La Casa Tarifa (8/1), White Tower (8/1)

Verdict

Devil's Bridge looks an interesting contender and is fancied to do better than on his recent return, while Kitten's Johnstown should be suited by this step up in trip as he bids to maintain his 100% record. In such a trappy contest an eye on the market is strongly advised, though the suggestion at first glance is LA CASA TARIFA, who has fitness on her side and should see out this extra furlong.
  1. La Casa Tarifa
  2. Kitten's Johnstown
  3. Devil's Bridge
