Performed with credit on two starts on the AW last year but struggled when stepped up to Listed company on turf. Should improve this season but may bump into a few too good this time around.
Justified favouritism when making his debut in a 6f event at Windsor in June but struggled in Group 2 company at this course. Bounced back with a win at the Lincoln meeting at the start of this campaign and future entries include the 2,000 Guineas here and the Derby so clearly highly thought of but he will need to find improvement to justify those engagements.
Winner of his second outing as a two-year-old and ran a sound race behind fellow re-opposing Godolphin recruit Bin Battuta at Doncaster last time. Entitled to come on for that run and holds a Derby entry so he ought to be ahead of his mark if he's planning on taking up that engagement.
Won his maiden last time but he's been largely disappointing and handicapper has taken his beating of that average field quite literally so undoubtedly needs to improve if he's to figure against some potentially top-class rivals.
Arrives here attempting to win his fourth race on the spin and still showed there was something to work on when running a little keen here last time. Trainer can ready one after a break and he could well take this step up in class in his stride. Interesting runner and trainer/jockey have a good strike-rate when teaming up around here (17.5%).
Struggled behind a couple of these on reappearance at Doncaster and while he's entitled to come on for that effort, he's probably not one of the better handicapped ones in the race.
Scored with a little up his sleeve at Leicester when last seen following up a respectable debut here in August. Trainer going particularly well in the last couple of weeks and this colt holds a Derby entry so there's likely to be more to come. Should go well.
Improved on his latest start to score at Kempton (in first-time cheekpieces left off today) but hasn't been the most straightforward sort. Opening mark also no gimme but trainer going great guns this season so improvement through the winter months not ruled out.
Did well to recover from a slow start at Newcastle on debut, finishing with a rattle but the form has failed to be franked since. Still holds a Dante entry so this step up in trip should suit and trainer is in flying form but others preferred.
Struggled here when missing the break last time but won on fast ground at Beverley the time before. Shapes like he will want an even longer trip than this with time so others hold more appeal for now.

BIN BATTUTA and First Nation both still hold Derby entries and it's the former who looks capable of being able to confirm the form after an impressive effort at Doncaster at the start of the month, staying on to lead in the closing stages; the latter could also do better with a run under his belt. Court Calabash shouldn't be discounted and he could still be on a lenient mark while Elucidation and Century Dream make up a competitive shortlist.
