Really appeared to improve at the end of last season when landing a couple of races the first in a maiden and then making a successful handicap debut. Looks the type to improve further and may do better still.
Makes his handicap debut after showing promise in two maidens before landing one on his third try at Newcastle over a mile. Up in trip again here and look the type to improve going handicapping.
Wasn't the best placed on his debut when winning at maiden at Lingfield over a mile in November but still won in promising fashion. Obviously open to plenty of improvement and the handicapper has had to have a little bit of a guess at his handicap mark.
Comes here with a fair amount of experience under his belt and had shown promise before winning a Ffos Las maiden. His handicap debut was sound enough and although he ran disappointingly on his final start he looks the type to run well in handicaps.
Has returned after a winter break and gelding to win on back-to-back starts winning his latest start at Windsor over a mile in good style. Is 4lb well-in under a penalty here and looks sure to make a bold bid for his hat-trick.
Showed some promise in maidens last year although his progress was a little slow and limited compared to some of these. May well do better going into handicaps but this looks a tough enough test on debut.
Forecasts
Stradivarius (9/4), Manangatang (5/2), Sir Plato (3/1), Election Day (5/1), Our Boy (16/1), Steel Helmet (28/1)
This looks as though it could be a hot little heat for the time of the year with Stradivarius one of the most interesting and capable of plenty of improvement although like Manangatang he may just need the race after his winter break. Our Boy and Election Day both look capable of winning handicaps this year but may need a slight ease in the handicap and the race fit and SIR PLATO may well be the one to side with in this competitive heat.
- Sir Plato
- Stradivarius
- Manangatang
