Showed some reasonable form as juvenile and was clearly expected to run well when really well backed on his three-year-old debut. A repeat of that run gives him a chance here.
Judged on his form last year he looks as though he could do with a little further and the 1m1f could be a little on the short side. Most of the stables runners look as though they could do with the run and others are preferred.
Stable have made a rather surprisingly sharp start to the season and this one boasts a pedigree that says he will appreciate further. Looks open to improvement given his form last year in two maidens and of interest here after his winter break.
Looks to have a tough task on debut but should in time appreciate this distance and further. Stable do well here and hard to write off totally.
Purchase price doubled from a foal to a yearling and is a half-sister to 1m winners Ice Man Star and Ibiza Empress. Given her yard should run well in events like this but may just need this experience.
Forecasts
Amlad (6/5), Sable Island (9/4), Chippenham (11/2), Pleasant Surprise (7/1), Sunrize (12/1)
An interesting maiden for the course with all of the five having some sort of chance with Amlad looking to build on his first start this year which should bring him on. Chippenham looks as though he’ll need further and looks rather one-paced and for that reason SABLE ISLAND is preferred. Both Sunrize and Pleasant Surprise add depth to the race and should be noted for the future.
- Sable Island
- Amlad
- Pleasant Surprise
