Not many can better his record of late on the Fibresand where he has won four times over C&D and certainly look progressive on this surface. Up in the weights again here and runs off a career high mark plus he has the handicap of stall 1 which is difficult to overcome over this trip.

A Fibresand virgin who drops back in trip from 1m2f here having found winning difficult of late despite some sound efforts. Looks on a fair mark overall but that long losing record is off putting.

Appeared to relish the return to 7f when winning here over that trip here in February with that return to form coming out of the blue. Hasn't been in the same form since though in two runs here once over further and once over shorter.

Dual winner here in March last year once over C&D off lower marks. Has shaped better returned to this surface of late although 6f last time out looked rather too short and he did well to finish second in the circumstances. Still features on a good mark and will appreciate the return to 7f.

A real improver in handicaps last year reeling off a hat-trick at Newcastle, Thirsk and Newmarket recording his previous trainers 1,000th winner in the process. Returns from a break here and looks as though he can compete off this mark and has been placed on this surface (on debut).

Out-and-out front runner who is often seen to good effect around Ayr but has also won here and is 1/1 over C&D. Comes back from a break here having not run that well at the end of last season and this mark looks tough enough.

Can look unreliable and makes life tougher for himself often with some tardy/slow starts. Has run well enough on his last two starts here though but can't really afford to give some capable Fibresand sorts a start.

Forecasts

Robero (9/4), Custard The Dragon (7/2), Red Touch (7/2), Order Of Service (7/1), Intensical (15/2), Among Angels (17/2), Jay Kay (25/1)

Verdict

Quite a few in this have good form on the Fibresand surface and Custard The Dragon has really taken to this unique surface but the stall 1 draw could make life difficult here. Among Angels is back over the tight rip now but has to improve on his last starts while both Robero and Jay Kay are interesting if they are fit after breaks. Overall though the vote goes to RED TOUCH who likes the surface and is back over his right trip of 7f.
  1. Red Touch
  2. Custard The Dragon
  3. Robero
