Couldn't have won his debut at Dundalk much more impressively but this looks like a different proposition all together on debut for this yard. Yard have made a slow start to the campaign so may be best avoided on this occasion.
Excellent second behind the exciting Rodaini on second start after winning his maiden easily enough at Yarmouth. Sets a clear standard on form but trainer's runners often come on markedly for their seasonal reappearance.
Won his maiden over C&D on fast ground and the runner-up has franked that form to some extent but the standard looks a level or two below what will be required to win this, so improvement needed.
Won his maiden with ease on his third start and looks an exciting prospect for the year ahead. Form of his maiden looks solid with the other placed horses coming out and running well since and his trainer has made a flying start to the season. Looks like the one to beat and holds an entry for the 2000 Guineas.
Won her Lingfield maiden very impressively last time and closing sectionals were impressive for the grade. No doubt she's in deeper this time around but fillies can take giant steps forward between runs and any market support would be interesting.
More miles on the clock than the majority of these and she'll need to step up on the level of form she has shown to date.
Forecasts
Salsabeel (5/4), Via Egnatia (15/8), Beat The Bank (7/1), Time Zone (9/1), Vona (25/1), Mitigate (25/1)
VIA EGNATIA looks like the one to beat with his impressive maiden win lasting long in the memory. Proved he can handle this course and application of a hood should help focus him. Mitigate has a bit to do on ratings but it was a taking performance that saw her win at Lingfield last time and Listed runner-up, Salsabeel, is a danger to all if he's ready to go first-time out this season.
- Via Egnatia
- Mitigate
- Salsabeel
