Useful horse on his day including when winning on soft ground over 3m at Haydock in November 2014. No show in two runs for this yard in hunter chases so far. Most recent effort came over an extended 3m1f and likely to find one or two have too much pace for him over this trip.

Point-to-point winner at Larkhill (good-to-soft) in January and ran well when 15L fourth in a military riders race at Sandown in March. Best form under rules has come over 2m-2m3f and likely run well here dropped in trip with a promising young jockey in the saddle today.

Looking held when unseating at the last in an eventful race at Newbury last month. That effort was an improvement on his first first run in nearly two years when pulled up at Wetherby in February and an interesting runner in this.

Placed three times in hunter chases in recent years but struggles with the 3m trip in point-to-point's. Finished runner-up over 2m5f at Ascot earlier this month under today's jockey and looking for his first victory since February 2014 today.

Verdict

CEASAR MILAN ran well enough in the Grand Military Gold Cup at Sandown last month to suggest that he'll appreciate this drop to 2m4f today. The selection weakened quickly in the closing stages and his previous rules form also suggests that this trip is likely to prove more suitable. Duke Of Lucca ran well under his amateur jockey until unseating at the last at Newbury last month and can chase the selection home today while Hazy Tom has placed in similar races to this in the past and can claim third.
  1. Ceasar Milan
  2. Duke Of Lucca
