3/1
Fairly useful Flat performer (won a 1m2f maiden on the AW) and made a winning start over hurdles (C&D). Looked a hard ride in that win (tough to settle) and that trait has hindered him in his subsequent starts over hurdles although he has been highly tried in his latest two races. May do better back at this level but does have to prove more tractable to fulfil his potential.

Age: 4|  Weight: 11-5| J: T Scudamore| T: N P Mulholland| OR:  129
4/11
Flat winner who was quite impressive on his hurdles debut when winning at Wetherby (2m) leading all the way and staying on well despite racing with the choke out. Has still run freely in his other starts but has looked more settled in a hood of late (still keen) and matched his Wetherby firm when narrowly beaten at Newbury last time out despite losing a shoe.

Age: 4|  Weight: 10-12| J: Dave Crosse| T: M R Channon| OR:  105
10/1
Five-time Flat winner who has won his last two races in that sphere on the AW after running over hurdles. Form over timber has yet to match his Flat form and takes on a couple of talented individuals here.

50/1
Struggled on the Flat in three runs in maidens and looked just as limited over hurdles on his sole try so far.
5
Horse silk
20/1
Flat form was fairly poor but she showed a little more on her hurdles debut over C&D hinting that she may well have some ability in this sphere.

Forecasts

Most Celebrated (4/11), East Indies (3/1), Masterson (10/1), Sixties Idol (20/1), Norse Castle (50/1)

Verdict

East Indies and MOST CELEBRATED are head and shoulders above this field on form and it’s the latter that gets the vote as he may just have learnt to settle better. The other three are most likely running for the places here and Sixties Idol may just be able to step up on her hurdles debut to take third.
