Has a very long absence to overcome and lacks experience over regulation fences. Also disconcerting that today's trip stretches him to the limit. Others appear to hold more solid claims.

Won over hurdles at Sandown during his time with Nicky Henderson but failed to make an impact when switched to fences. He does, however, have only four outings over the larger obstacles to his name, so it is feasible that he has a bit more to offer. Also positive that he has handled the fences at Fakenham in the past, so one to bear in mind if supported.
Made all to win a point-to-point at Revesby Park last month but dropped out tamely when upped in grade shortly afterwards. However, this doesn't look the strongest event and he may be too battle hardened for a few of the rest. Another for the shortlist.

Can hold his own at this level but it's hard to know which is his best trip and the fact that he is yet to win a race tells its own story. Place claims but not one to trust implicitly for win only purposes.
Been in good heart in point-to-points and has won a couple of times over 3m since the turn of the year. Debuts for a new yard today but he was a very comfortable winner last time out and will be very hard to master if he is in the same frame of mind this time around.

Only three starts over regulation fences but has bits and pieces of solid form to his name in point-to-points. Still, he has plenty to find with Mr Cardle judging by their recent encounter at Leicester in a similar race and appears to face a tough test in his attempt to reverse the form.

Won a point-to-point over 3m back in the mists of time but has been well below that level recently. Worrying has failed to complete any of his last four starts and isn't too hard to overlook just now.

Forecasts

Pride Of Parish (7/4), Street Entertainer (4/1), I Wonder Why (9/2), In Fairness (9/2), Are They Your Own (7/1), Mr Cardle (14/1), Vering (100/1)

Verdict

A tough one to call but I WONDER WHY can be a tough cookie when his puts his mind to things and may have too much determination for Pride Of Parish, who is in good form but takes on a slightly better calibre of opponent this afternoon. In Fairness, who at least has experience of racing at this course and has a little scope for improvement, may be the best of the rest.
  1. I Wonder Why
  2. Pride Of Parish
  3. In Fairness
