Rated 135 at his best a few years ago and is multiple winner under both codes of racing; also has a positive track record with a victory over 2m at this course. Does need to conclusively prove his stamina will hold out over this extended 2m4f, however, and has been a little below par of late.
Been in great heart of late, gets on well with today's jockey, and has been found a weak opening for his attempt to land a third consecutive victory; so plenty in his favour. On a cautionary note, he has been placed but never won over this sort of trip, so does still need everything to go his way.
Showed determination to win a lady riders event over 2m at Huntingdon last month, but consistency has never been his forte and he was readily brushed aside at Taunton a fortnight later. Noteworthy that he has been placed over course and distance, though, and may be able to get involved in the shake-up if he consents to stride out to the best of his ability.
Best in at the weights, versatile regarding the ground and, having won over 3m last October, his stamina is unlikely to be an issue. He has an obvious chance on these terms and will be hard to beat now he drops back to 2m4f.
Eye-catching jockey booking but this fellow has been frustrating to follow and has a bit to prove after failing to land a telling blow went sent off as the favourite in a similar event at Taunton earlier this month. The step up in trip may help him but the fact that he is still a maiden after 13 previous attempts over hurdles is an off-putting statistic.
Has winning form on the Flat in France and Norway but is hard to assess now he makes his debut over hurdles for a new yard. The fitting of first-time cheekpieces does little to bolster the confidence.

A very modest opener can go to BALLYROCK, who stands out as one that will be suited by both the trip and ground. He has a clear-cut chance on these terms and his proven fitness may provide the vital edge if Knocknanuss is in need of the outing after his long time on the sidelines. Tiradia is capable at this level but rarely runs two races the same. Gambol on the other hand arrives here in good form and may be the most viable alternative if his stamina holds out.
