Likes this venue and form figures here read 41321. Showed his preference for quicker conditions when winning on good to firm ground last time out but handicapper has had his say, and this will be the highest mark he's won off if he's to triumph.

Connections aren't wasting much time over hurdles with him, and this will be his first chase start on only his eighth run. Far too headstrong for his own good last time, and unsurprisingly stopped very quickly, which has to be a worry over these tricky fences. First-time tongue tie needs to have a major effect.

Another for whom hurdles are being quickly dispensed with, and as a full brother to the talented, if quirky, winning chaser Champagne At Tara, better could be expected. Yard going fine and a surprise if we haven't seen the best of this one yet.

First run for new yard who do well with other's castoffs, although they have gone a bit quiet after a tremendous March (despite a winner last week). Had looked out of love with the game when last seen but on a good enough mark if a change of scenery has worked the oracle.

Age: 7|  Weight: 10-5| J: G Sheehan| T: P R Webber| OR:  79

Has looked regressive over hurdles and mark has come down as a result of some moderate efforts lately, but on the plus side, is related to plenty of winning chasers so perhaps the switch to the bigger obstacles will help. Likely conditions fine and not discounted.

Forecasts

Flashman (6/4), Lovely Bubbly (5/2), Lake Chapala (9/2), Cosmic Diamond (6/1), Give Him Time (9/1)

Verdict

Flashman has the form in the bank and is returning to his favourite venue, so has a bit going for him in that regard, but he's going to have to give weight to two likely improvers in LOVELY BUBBLY and Cosmic Diamond now that they see a fence for the first time. Preference is for Lovely Bubbly, who ran better when third at Exeter last time out and has been found a decent opportunity to score. Cosmic Diamond is another that may do better but the yard are struggling for winners, with just the one this calendar year. Lake Chapala isn't out of it either, despite some poor recent form.
  1. Lovely Bubbly
  2. Flashman
  3. Cosmic Diamond
