Winner of a 2m5f event at Doncaster (good) in January on his second outing over hurdles. Has since finished runner-up at Bangor (2m7f, soft) and looks likely to run well again today.

Has finished well beaten in all three career outings so far and will probably fair better once tackling handicap contests.

Point-to-point winner in December but no show in three outings under rules so far and likely to struggle in a race of this nature.

Unraced son of Fantastic Spain. Half-brother to a winner on the Flat over 5f and best watched on his belated racecourse debut.
6

10/3
Successful three times on the Flat so far and beaten just ½L here over 2m4f on heavy ground in March. Has run well on good ground in the past though likely to find a couple too good on his debut for a new trainer today.

Victorious in a bumper here last October and kept busy since. Finished third when sent off favourite here in a 2m4f maiden hurdle last month but looks to be a leading contender in this contest.

Forecasts

Lough Derg Farmer (6/5), Paddys Motorbike (10/3), Like The Sound (7/2), Woodfort (5/1), Blue Rhythm (40/1), Clondaw Rigger (100/1), Griffington (100/1)

Verdict

LIKE THE SOUND was victorious in handicap company at Stratford last time out three weeks ago and can register a third success over hurdles by taking this novice event. The selection is likely to appreciate the better ground predicted here and can get the better of Lough Derg Farmer who is the other penaised runner in this contest with the maiden Woodfort taken to finish third.
