Won her maiden narrowly over C&D on debut before running a fair race in a French Group 2 at Deauville. Should be interesting if replicating that form but it's difficult to know how it compared to her rivals who have been running in Britain.

Won her maiden at the second time of asking at Newmarket before going on to finish sixth in a Group 2 at Doncaster (the May Hill), which rates the stand-out piece of form in the field. Beaten favourite that day but this is a good opportunity for her to bounce back.

Finished just behind Blending in the May Hill at Doncaster at the St Leger meeting last September, though she perhaps has less scope to improve than that reopposing rival. The first time hood could help, though.

Ran two fair races in relatively weak looking maidens last year, winning the second of them. More needed here in what should be a much more challenging heat, but she is more than entitled to improve.

By far the most exposed of these with seven starts as a juvenile, only managing to score in a Pontefract maiden and seeming to struggle on most of her other starts. Others look likely to improve past her.

3/1
Took a while to get going last year, finally getting off the mark at the third time of asking. She went on to finish ninth in the Oh So Sharp Stakes but wasn't disgraced that day, and should be at least a contender for a place here as long as she has trained on sufficiently.

Sibilance317
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-4| J: Fran Berry| T: R M Beckett| OR:  81

Steps up in trip from her debut maiden win at Kempton to tackle a mile for the first time. It should suit her well on pedigree, and based on her manner of victory first time out, and she is the least exposed option in the field.

Forecasts

Blending (5/2), Raven's Lady (3/1), Indian Blessing (5/1), Assanilka (11/2), Sibilance (6/1), Hidden Steps (10/1), Perfect Madge (14/1)

Verdict

Blending is given the opportunity to make amends for a disappointing run when favourite for the May Hill at Doncaster last September. She should improve going forward but has something to prove after that defeat, while Indian Blessing boasts course form to her name, having won her maiden here. She too would likely need to improve to take this, though. SIBILANCE could prove to be a slightly risky proposition given she has only won an ordinary maiden so far, but the step up in trip should suit this daughter of Bated Breath, and as the least exposed option here she could go on to be the class act in the field.
  1. Sibilance
  2. Blending
  3. Indian Blessing
