Barely beaten a rival home in two hurdles starts to date and she looks like one that will need more time.

Sole success came in a Huntingdon bumper this time last year (good to soft) but has gone well enough over hurdles this winter. Didn't seem to take to chasing last time but very much respected back in this sphere.

Likely to want further than this and struggled in both her point-to-point starts. Race-fit at least but doesn't have a convincing profile.
Makes her debut today at an age which does little to encourage much enthusiasm, especially given her relatively unexciting pedigree. Would be a surprise winner here even if she's somewhat better than all that would suggest.

Struggled when last seen but ran okay at Warwick the time before. Was a point-to-point winner so step back in trip isn't an obvious positive but at least has some worthy form in the book with her efforts at Warwick and Exeter before Christmas.

Soundly beaten on all six starts and jumping can be sketchy so impossible to fancy.

Forecasts

Beyond Measure (8/11), Shaluna (11/8), Ambivalent About (18/1), Celestial Chimes (25/1), Jennifer Chimes (33/1), Sprogzilla (66/1), Running Squaw (80/1)

Verdict

BEYOND MEASURE sets a reasonable standard on form in what looks like a particularly weak contest. Shaluna performed okay in a couple of races before Christmas and may be able to bounce back if this trip doesn't prove too sharp while Running Squaw may be best of the rest but making a debut at the age of nine-years-old is off-putting.

  2. Shaluna
  3. Running Squaw
