Course form figures read: 1,2,9,1 so this gelding clearly enjoys the Colwick Park air. In fine form in the early part of last year winning five out of six and seeing his mark rise by over 20lb, but still competitive towards the back-end so a likeable sort.
Finished tenth of 31 in the Cambridgeshire when last in action in September 2016. Lightly raced last season after winning at Newmarket in May (1m2f), but clearly has ability and should go well if fully tuned up on seasonal bow.
Seven time winner who last tasted success on good to firm ground at Goodwood in July 2016 (7F). Still 3lb higher and might find this 1m trip a shade too far.
Unbeaten in two starts on synthetics and took a 7F Chelmsford handicap in late October by a head. Up 3lb and has never won beyond 7F, but did finish a short-head second over 1m to Rostova at Newmarket in July 2016.
His sole success came in a three runner Salisbury nursery in 2015, but he was twice a runner up in competitive Sandown handicaps in the early part of 2016 before tackling the King George V Stakes at Royal Ascot in June (eighth of 16). Just the one run thereafter, and off since July 2016 and interesting to see what the market makes of his chances.
Progressive throughout the course of 2016 winning three times including on his final start at York in October 2016. A neck victor from Another Touch on that occasion, a 3lb rise seems fair and this looks a reasonable starting point for 2017.
Now advancing in years and finished off 2016 in a fairly quiet manner, but that hasn't done his mark any harm, and he was twice a runner up over this sort of trip from 10lb higher at Ayr and Chester in July 2016, so is not totally out of contention.
8lb higher than when winning at Musselburgh in September 2016 (1m), but was twice placed off only 3lb lower thereafter (at upto 1m2f). Below par when last in action at Doncaster in November, and might need this race.
Lightly raced but classy on his day as he showed when demolishing a 12 runner field in a Redcar maiden in October 2015 (soft). Slow to hand last year and didn't reappear until September, and we've not seen the best of him yet in handicaps over 1m2f. Interesting he's out early this campaign and dropped to 1m.
7F handicap winner at Epsom in June 2016 for Mark Johnston but gradually lost his way after a number of tasking assignments for that trainer which included the Britannia Stakes and the International Stakes. Sold for 45,000 gns and makes his stable debut for a much respected trainer.
1m Kempton maiden winner as a juvenile in October 2014, before missing his entire three-year-old campaign. Reasonable enough return to action in May 2016, but raced just once more since so presumably his problems have persisted. Watching brief only at the moment.

A good quality 1m handicap which could provide some of the answers too far better races further down the line. Plenty of these horses are fairly lightly raced and open to improvement after seemingly overcoming problems. G K CHESTERTON is the prime example, and he promises to be suited by dropping back to this trip for the first time in handicap company, with 2017 the year for him to finally fufil his potential. The likes of the progressive Weekend Offender, course specialist Ice Slice and the less exposed Interconnection stand out as possible dangers.
