Showed some promise on debut at Gowran Park in October over a mile when cutting out the running on heavy ground, less so on second start at Leopardstown over 7f when held up. Hood goes on now, hard to fancy.
Beat a long way on debut over 6f at Naas two weeks ago, may improve but has plenty on to get competitive here.
Runner-up at Cork last week in a 7f maiden on heavy going, also ran a pleasing race over the mile on AW at Dundalk in December. Shouldn't be far away in this.
Settled for second in a mile maiden at Naas on reappearance 16 days ago, no match for easy Ballydoyle winner but much the best of the remainder. Also gone well in two turf maidens over this trip and looks a key player in this.
Well beaten off over 1m2f at Leopardstown six days ago, in keeping with debut run at Naas back in September over a mile. Big drop in trip now.
Doing best work late on over this trip at Cork recently, finished third there behind Pecheurs De Perles and should be on the premises again with likely improvement to come.
Slowly away at Cork alongside a couple of these rivals last week, then ran off the course immediately and doesn't look like one to be trusted for now.
This Makfi filly is an interesting newcomer here, master-trainer is in fine form and she should play a leading role in this contest.
Forecasts
Tommy Hallinan (5/4), Bee Queen (3/1), Pecheurs De Perles (6/1), Vocal Response (6/1), Kendwar (16/1), Typhoon Rising (16/1), Galtymore (33/1), Wee Jock (33/1)
Bee Queen is an interesting debutant for the Weld team in this, she has the potential to be decent and looks destined to go close on her first outing in what may not be the strongest of maidens. Pecheurs De Perles showed a good attitude at Cork last week to finish second but may end up cast in a similar supporting role here. VOCAL RESPONSE was behind him at the Mallow track but may reverse that form now. He took a while to get going but was finishing as good as anything and can improve now to open his account. Tommy Hallinan is respected on his Naas debut and looks the pick of the remainder.
- Vocal Response
- Bee Queen
- Pecheurs De Perles
