Has looked as if a step up in trip would suit on each of his last two starts over Wolverhampton's extended 1m1f trip. Got to within ¾L of Lucent Dream latest, and a useful 5lb claimer takes over in the saddle today.
Newbury winner in June 2016, who also landed this race under this rider last year. Likely primed to go close from the same mark (58).
1½L third to Smiley Bagel over C&D in February when doing all of his best work in the closing stages. Not so effective switched to Kempton next time when never involved behind the thriving Moayadd.
22 race maiden, with most of those races coming over shorter trips, but was only beaten a neck over 1m4f by Briac at Kempton early last month, and is far from harshly handicapped from a 3lb higher mark (runner up from this mark over shorter latest).
All three of his career successes have come on turf (0 from 6 on the AW), with just a sole Yarmouth success to his name in the UK. Not beaten far (but held) from this sort of mark over this trip in two AW starts in 2017, and pulled up over hurdles most recently at Leicester.
17 race career maiden, and made no impression when switched back to the AW (after a spell over hurdles) at Wolverhampton late last month, so unlikely to be involved.

13 race career maiden who generally has considerably more in front than behind him, with his penultimate February course fifth of 13 to Synodic (1m2f) a recent best effort.
29 race career maiden who has been campaigned solely at Chelmsford since returning to the track from a 22 month absence in February 2017. He's twice been placed third over 1m2f, without troubling the principals, and needs to produce more upped to 1m4f.
19 race maiden who has raced over hurdles, 7F and 1m4f in his last three starts, so it's little wonder he's not been able to build any consistent form, but rated just 41, he's impossible to fancy even at this level.

But for a few exceptions, this is almost a maiden that masquerades as a handicap, and therefore, few can be expected to be involved in the finish. Paddy Bradley is an interesting booking for Victor's Bet and this step up in trip could suit this eight-year-old down to the ground. However, TURNBURY has very much been there and got the t-shirt around this track (1m4f) and clearly goes very well for Ed Greatrex, so from a mark of just 58, he can record a fourth course (fifth career) success in a poor heat.
