A shade disappointing he's not shed the maiden tag by now after posting a solid effort behind Brittanic at Newcastle on his second start (7F). However, he didn't have the run of the race behind Abatement here in January, and again met similar problems when upped to 1m last time. Player with leading jockey booked.
110,000 gns yearling by Sepoy who ran green, and was in rear throughout when seventh of 11 to Intrepidly at Kempton (7F) in October 2016. Steps up in trip with improvement required.
Clearly learned plenty from his Newmarket debut, and was suited by this step up to 1m when losing out in a three-way tussle to Manangatang over C&D in November 2016. Returns from a winter break and is likely to go well.
Gelded son of Mount Nelson who is a half-brother to a couple of useful stayers (Deauville Flyer and Taws), so is likely to find this trip on the sharp side. Needs to up his game from his debut effort (finished tenth of 13 to Sabador over 1m at Kempton last month).
200,000 gns yearling by Raven's Pass out of Blue Angel, and a half-brother to the talented Viren's Army. Posted a pleasing debut when just over 6L fifth of 14 to Sound Bar in a 1m Newbury maiden in October 2016. Plenty of scope to build upon that effort on his Polytrack debut.
Expensive yearling (€360,000), and has shaped with promise on both outings to date over this trip at Kempton. Lacked pace at a crucial stage on both those starts, but not knocked about, and has plenty of scope for the future.
As green as grass when last of eight over 1m to Bless Him at Chelmsford ten days ago. Likely to be much wiser for that experience, but may need another run or two to be seen to his best.
Slowly away on both of his starts so far, but his second effort at Newbury was a major step forward. Although always held, he got to within 2¾L of Sound Bar (Eagle Creek fifth) in a 1m maiden, and if handling this different track looks a major player with his stable in good form at this track in 2017.
Raced on plenty more occasions than the others in this field, but has some fairly solid placed form over a variety of trips already in the book. Has Polytrack experience (albeit not at this track), but clearly stays this trip, and assuming he's trained on, he should go well enough.
Fourth foal by Exceed And Excel who should appreciate this step up in trip for his AW debut. However, he has only shown a modicum of promise in maidens to date (green) and could be the type to do better further down the line in handicaps.
Both of his starts in the last month have come over 1m2f, and he drops back in trip to 1m today. By Medicean, this could lead to an improved effort, but there would appear to be plenty of others likely to finish ahead of him.
The sole filly in the line up, so she receives a handy 5lb allowance. However, life is likely to be tough for this daughter of Paco Boy if her debut eighth of nine to Arabian Hope at Kempton the weekend past last is any guide.

Likely to be an informative maiden with a number of the leading yards represented. The Newbury maiden won by Sound Bar provides the lead into this race, with both Mathix and EAGLE CREEK running very respectably. The latter named has more scope to improve (albeit with 3 plus lengths to find), but this half-brother to Viren's Army will surely be suited by this Polytrack surface. Of the others, both Daimochi and Entangling look interesting sorts, whilst both Prerogative and Arnarson should really have had their heads in front by now already on the very best of their efforts in maiden company.
