Although always held, he got to within 2¾L of Sound Bar (Eagle Creek fifth) in a 1m maiden, and if handling this different track looks a major player with his stable in good form at this track in 2017.

Verdict

Likely to be an informative maiden with a number of the leading yards represented. The Newbury maiden won by Sound Bar provides the lead into this race, with both Mathix and EAGLE CREEK running very respectably. The latter named has more scope to improve (albeit with 3 plus lengths to find), but this half-brother to Viren's Army will surely be suited by this Polytrack surface. Of the others, both Daimochi and Entangling look interesting sorts, whilst both Prerogative and Arnarson should really have had their heads in front by now already on the very best of their efforts in maiden company.
