Regular here but his only win came over 2m3f (good to firm) two years ago. Still feasibly-treated on that form but far from convincing in the autumn and plenty to prove returning from a break.
Won a hunter chase over C&D winner on good ground last May and also scored off a 2lb lower mark on soft ground at Wincanton in January. Has struggled since, however, and has questions to answer.
Has just the one win under rules from from 21 starts, that win coming over 2m3f here in January. Not disgraced on occasions since off higher marks but has yet to truly convince he stays this longer trip. Others preferred.
Winning pointer/staying hurdler who shaped nicely when chasing home Bindon Mill on his chasing bow over C&D (soft) in January but hasn't really kicked on from there in two subsequent starts. Interesting to see if better ground helps.
Very patchy profile overall, though was only just denied over 3m1f (soft) on his penultimate start in a novice handicap chase at Wincanton. Pulled up next time out on heavy going at Towcester and others look more likely on balance.

CLUBS ARE TRUMPS took full advantage of a falling mark when absolutely dotting up in the hands of his talented conditional rider at Chepstow over the weekend and, providing this race doesn't come to soon, it's hard to see a 7lb penalty preventing a follow up in this trappy affair. If there is a threat, it is likely to come in the shape of Ugolin De Beaumont or Quinto if better ground elicits improvement.
