Has shown some useful form on the Flat and got off the mark over hurdles on his third start in this sphere. Win at Wetherby last time out hinted at more to come and escapes a penalty here.
Well held in all his starts in bumpers and has shown little over hurdles so far being pulled-up on his last three starts.
Form over hurdles so far has proved to be very modest although there was a hint of promise last time out at Musselburgh. Had some useful form in handicaps and may well be better off in handicaps.
Showed some fair form in his only bumper start and definitely stepped up on that form on his initial start over hurdles. Started at a big price on that occasion but showed some promise to finish third and further improvement is expected here.
Makes his hurdles debut here after showing some steadily progressive form in bumpers winning his last one at Newcastle. Yard are in good form and also do well with this type in this sphere.
Has shaped with promise on several of his hurdles starts and has caught the eye of the Stewards in the past. Again shaped well last time out at Musselburgh when possibly given a lot to do (did best of those held-up) and remains with plenty of potential.
Makes his debut for a new yard having won his only start so far in a small field Huntingdon bumper. Hard to know what that form amounts to but it looked a smart run and he could play a part on his hurdles debut.
Form in bumpers was only modest and fell on his hurdles debut. Only fifth on his subsequent hurdles start and probably needs further.
Makes his hurdles debut here after showing some modest form on the Flat and was well beaten in a 1m2f seller last time out.
Maiden on the Flat (did show some reasonable form) and had just the one try over hurdles. Has work to do on that run with a couple of these and it remains to be seen if he has the stamina for this sphere.
Has run well on a couple of occasions in handicaps of late but ran a poor race last time out here and has work to do based on that run.
Makes her debut over hurdles having looked more and more difficult for her former yard on the Flat and can only be watched for now.
Forecasts
Blue Hussar (1/1), Mayo Star (11/4), Slanelough (9/2), Berkshire Downs (5/1), Tolethorpe (18/1), Dance Of Fire (33/1), Lastin' Memories (50/1), Picture Painter (66/1), Witness Time (66/1), Jammy Moment (100/1), Il Sassicaia (100/1), Crookofdevon (250/1)
The unpenalised for his Wetherby win BLUE HUSSAR looks to be the major player here but he might not have things all his own way in a race where there are some interesting sorts. Both Mayo Star and Tolethorpe who are making their hurdling debuts look to have the ability to win in sphere while Slanelough has shown plenty of promise in his hurdling starts so far. With Dance Of Fire and Lastin Memories also having shown some ability for over hurdles this race has a little more depth than the market suggests although those last two would be more of interest for handicaps down the line than the here and now.
- Blue Hussar
- Slanelough
- Mayo Star
