Easy winner at Limerick last time out over 2m1f, best effort yet over these obstacles. Goes up in trip now for handicap bow and may well take some stopping again.
Won beginners chase over 2m at this venue in October 2015, most recently spotted running credible fourth in strong Leopardstown handicap over 2m1f at Christmas, form that entitles him to hold claims in this field.
Been disappointing in three runs this year, failing to complete the last twice. Did run very well at this venue last May in similar contest, beaten 3L and shouldn't be written off.
Been running well enough over fences this term, including here over 2m in January, to warrant serious consideration on handicap bow, yard in good form too.
Well beaten in two handicap chases last month, latest at Limerick over 2m1f, 1lb lower now with useful claimer in what looks a weaker race, cannot be discounted.
Gained sole chase win from 18 starts at Leopardstown in December, hasn't matched that effort in two runs since and much to ponder after Wexford disappointment 23 days ago.
Veteran performer hasn't won since July 2015 and was pulled up at Thurles in December when last spotted. Has slipped to a workable mark should he find some sparkle again.
Had been holding his form nicely without winning this season but two most recent efforts have been tame. Beat 28L at Clonmel off this mark 19 days ago and needs to bounce back now.
Returned from layoff with pleasing second at Thurles over 2m4f a fortnight ago, goes up 3lb for that effort but perfectly entitled to be involved at the business end.
Forecasts
Just Get Cracking (11/4), Double Scores (7/2), Garrai Phaidin (5/1), Motown Bob (11/2), Stonehall Jack (7/1), The Mooch (8/1), Courtncatcher (20/1), Coldstonesober (25/1), Cliffside Park (25/1)
Stonehall Jack could have more to offer having run well off a break at Thurles recently and is respected while Double Scores makes his handicap debut off the back of an easy win in a beginners event at Limerick and is sure to be popular. JUST GET CRACKING ran a fine race in a decent Leopardstown handicap over Christmas and hasn't been spotted since. The booking of Paul Townend is a major plus point and he should have a race of this nature in his locker at a track where he has won before. Motown Bob, also in a handicap for the first time, is one to monitor in the betting given some decent efforts this term while Cliffside Park may appreciate the return to this venue where he has run well before.
- Just Get Cracking
- Double Scores
- Stonehall Jack
