Beaten 9½L when making his debut at Leopardstown over 1m last October. Wore a tongue tie on that occasion and this full-brother to Derby winner Ruler Of The World is worth a market check here.

Finished runner-up in a Listed contest over 1m1f on yielding ground when wearing blinkers for the first time in October. Holds Group 1 entries later this year and likely to prove hard to beat for a yard who took this in 2016 with the high class US Army Ranger with a tongue tie added today.

Experienced issues with the tack when pulled up at Dundalk over an extended 1m2f last month on first outing since being gelded. Finished well beaten on debut in 2016 and more needed here.

Put in a promising debut at The Curragh when fifth in a 7f contest in August but disappointed when a beaten odds-on favourite at Listowel subsequently. Step up in trip likely to suit on seasonal debut.

Well beaten in two outings so far in 2017 including when 20L ninth over 1m at Dundalk last month. Likely to fair better once tackling handicaps.

Finished runner-up on good ground over 7f here in August but could finish only fifth over 1m at The Curragh subsequently. Interesting runner for a yard with a 33% strike-rate in recent weeks (4./12).
Unraced daughter of Raven's Pass. Cost connections €2,000,000 at the sales in 2015 and is a half-sister to a number of classy performers including Echo Of Light. Worth a market check on debut.

Forecasts

Diodorus (5/2), Clongowes (11/4), Lightening Fast (5/1), Belgravia (6/1), Ensign (6/1), Tocco D'amore (9/1), African (14/1), Downtown Rebel (66/1), Fontainbleau (100/1)

Verdict

DIODORUS finished runner-up in a Listed contest on his final start as a two-year-old and can claim this event on his seasonal debut. Aidan O'Brien's colt shaped as if this extra furlong would suit on that occasion and he can get the better of Clongowes who ran with credit in three maiden events last October most recently when a beaten favourite at Leopardstown over 1m while Lightening Fast represents an in form yard and can claim third in this maiden event.
  1. Diodorus
  2. Clongowes
  3. Lightening Fast
